A new Relationships view: who stands where, and when

AtlasTrack Update

Relationships now change at events, play back with the timeline, and show as Ring, Canvas or Card views. Two lines can link the same pair at once.

The Relationships tab has been rebuilt. Relationships are now tied to events, so they change as the story moves and play back with the timeline.

  • Add a relationship at an event: select an event and press Add relationship in its inspector. Pick the two atlases and a label, such as "allies" or "rivals". You can use the same label both ways, or a different label for each side.
  • Change it at a later event: add a new label at a later event. The relationship changes from that point on.
  • More than one at a time: two atlases can have several relationships side by side, for example trade partners and naval rivals. Each one is its own line.
  • See it from an atlas: an atlas's Relationships tab lists every atlas it has a relationship with and how each one changed. The pencil opens that pair's relationship inspector, where you can edit labels and colors.
  • Three ways to look at it: Ring arranges every atlas in a circle, Canvas lets you place atlases yourself, and Card puts one atlas in the middle with the others as cards around it. Pick the middle atlas with Focus.
  • Deleting an event: if relationships change at that event, AtlasTrack lists them before anything is deleted.
  • The view, focus, zoom and colors are saved with the project.

Two new sample projects in the Server Library show it in action: Road to the Great War: The Great Powers, 1871-1919 and Romeo and Juliet: Five Days in Verona.
