v0.7.0: A new Map view with globe, place search and regions you build
Map view has been rebuilt. Search for places, build regions and spots for your events, and watch them move and change as the timeline plays.
AtlasTrack is now version 0.7.0.
The Map tab now opens a completely new map. The first time you open it, choose Download map to load the map data.
- Globe or flat: switch between Globe and Flat, and turn Auto-spin on or off from the view settings.
- Search for places: find countries, regions, districts and towns by name, including historic places with their years. A place found by another of its names shows Also known as.
- Build regions and spots: combine areas into one region, draw a new region corner by corner, or use Edit shape to add or erase parts. Then set it to an event.
- Animate between events: link a region or spot to one from an earlier event so it Moves, Changes shape or Draws a line as the timeline plays.
- Pins: show event and atlas images on the map On spot, Floating above their place, or turn them Off.
- Follow an atlas: during playback, the map can move with one atlas's lines and dots so you never lose it.
- On your phone: tap a place to select it, long-press for more options, and edit regions and spots from the phone layout.
Map display settings are saved with the project. Borders and place names come from public sources, credited under Sources on the map. AtlasTrack does not take a position on disputed territories or boundaries; disputed areas are labelled as such. Projects that use their own map image still open with the previous map view.
Try it yourself. AtlasTrack is free and runs right in your browser.
