Put events on the map with place attributes
Add a country, region, town or location to an event's attributes and the new map places it for you, no drawing needed.
The new map reads places straight from event attributes. There is nothing to set up.
- Use the address levels you know: country; state, province or region; county or district; city, town, village or place; location for a specific site; and coordinate for an exact point.
- Areas first: most levels show the area around the place. Only location and coordinate show a single spot.
- Several places for one event: separate them with ; to make one map element each.
- Movement comes automatically: within an atlas, each placed event links to the previous one, so the timeline shows where things went. You can change the animation on the map and it is kept.
- Fewer typos: attribute name boxes in the event editor now suggest the place names the map reads.
- Imports bring places too: the Data Puller adds place attributes when its source knows where an event happened, and the prompts for Use external AI ask for them.
Attributes stay your data: the map only reads them, and writes back to an event only when you choose Write to the event.
